EPA Investigates Property in Eastern Idaho

A piece of Idaho real estate has come under scrutiny by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency because of a reported chemical spill.  Local authorities found hundreds of barrels leaking an unknown substance and designated the area as a crime scene.

The owner of the property, Max Spatig, denies any wrong doing and claims there is no oil spill.  According to Fox 12 – KTRV in Nampa, he is also disputing the crime scene designation.

EPA officials are concerned about nearby wetlands as well as the well and nearby canal that may be contaminated as a result of the leaking chemicals.
