So it’s definitely been a very stressful last few months. Planning our wedding has taken it all out of me and I’m definitely looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my new and lovely wife. What’s even more exciting is our upcoming Caribbean honeymoon. It made a lot of sense to go where the sun is shining and where we can laze around on the beach, sipping cocktails and just spending time with each other. It wasn’t an easy decision to make as there are quite a few lovely places to see and visit around the globe. For now I can’t wait to splash my tired body in the clear blue sea!

Discount Cruise Is Exciting And Affordable
February 10th, 2010 — Travel
I’ve been looking for a holiday that has a lot to offer but at a very affordable price. Sounds like a dream, right? Then I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a discount cruise. For one price I get my accommodation and travel costs covered (once I arrive at port) as well as all my meals and drinks. Most onboard activities are covered but I think I’ll splurge and take part in some extra excursions as well. I’ll be travelling all around the Mediterranean for 10 days. I’m hoping the weather is beautiful and I come back with a load of memories and a nice tan!
Lucky to find a vacancy in town
February 10th, 2010 — Travel
After several hours of driving I decided that I should stop somewhere for the night and get some sleep. Taupo was the nearest town so I figured that was as good a place as any to stop. I didn’t have a reservation but I managed to get a room for the night at a taupo motel which was quite lucky as it is a busy time of year. Refreshed and ready to go, I left very early the next morning as I still had to get to Wellington to catch the ferry across to the south island to meet up with some friends who had been travelling by bus.

Economy Means Fewer Transfers in Football Premiership
February 3rd, 2010 — Travel
It must be a sign of the economic times that in the Premiership football ‘transfer window’ this year there were few new permanent transfers. Football clubs just don’t have the money nowadays. Some clubs are in administration and are being forced to sell players cheaply because they need the income from sales. What has happened though is that a lot of players have gone from one club to another on loan. A loan means that no transfer fee is involved, thus saving a club having to fork out possibly millions of pounds to get hold of a new signing. All the new club has to do is pay the wages of the player for the duration of the loan spell. Some footballers earn over £100,000 a week, a far cry from the days of top players like Bert Trautmann who used to earn hundreds not thousands in his day.

I have fallen in love with my wife’s family and culture. I want to make the very best use of the time we have there before we need to come back to the states.

Cheap Holidays to Turkey Are Within My Budget
January 26th, 2010 — Travel
With a limited travel budget I don’t have too many options for getting away but with this cold and miserable British winter I think it’s absolutely vital for my sanity. So I started doing some research into affordable options and it looks like I can actual stretch my saving and get away to a sunny destination! I’ve found plenty of cheap holidays to Turkey so now I’m just trying to decide which region best suits me. It’s between the bustling city of Istanbul and the scenic Antalya region – which has some gorgeous looking beaches. Ideally I’m trying to get my budget to afford me to see both!
