The Funniest License Plate Competition

I have come across many types of competitions that are held on a regular basis wherever I go. It could be anything like, drawing, singing, dancing, spelling contest, writing, recitation, etc. But, why not hold a competition for the owners of funny license plates? They could be given an opportunity to exhibit their license plates and the owner of the most humorous license plate could be given first prize. Then the pains taken by such owners in order to catch the attention of the viewers would get recognized. Am I being too ignorant or is there such a competition which is conducted elsewhere?
